Principal Data Platform Architect

Principal Data Platform Architect – Remote/Hybrid – Toronto
💰 Hourly Range: $80-115/hr
We’re looking for a hands-on Principal Data Platform Architect to design and lead end-to-end data solutions! You’ll own the technical strategy, build scalable data pipelines, and collaborate across architecture and analytics teams.
What you’ll do:
Design enterprise-grade data platforms and warehouses (Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, BigQuery)
Build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines with Python, SQL, Airflow, DBT, Spark, Kafka
Lead integrations via APIs and event-driven architectures for real-time data flows
Guide and mentor Data Engineers while driving practical, production-ready solutions
Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable, measurable architectures
What we’re looking for:
10+ years in Data & Analytics, Software or Cloud Engineering, DevOps
3+ years as a senior contributor (Architect, Principal, or Staff Engineer)
Deep experience with modern cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Expertise in data modeling, warehouse design, and governance
