Senior Azure Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

Job Title: Senior Azure Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (12-Month Contract)
Location: Mississauga, ON (4 days onsite / 1 remote)
Salary: $85–$95/hour
🚀 About the Role:
We’re looking for a hands-on Senior Azure Cloud Engineer to join a dynamic team and take ownership of cloud governance, DevOps, and operational excellence. You’ll help evolve Azure Landing Zones, implement Terraform-based Infrastructure as Code, and guide CloudOps while keeping security and compliance top of mind. This is a working role, not pure architecture — if you love solving problems in the cloud, this is your playground!
What You’ll Do:
Design, implement, and maintain Azure Landing Zone governance (RBAC, PIM, Policies)
Build and manage Terraform IaC for secure, compliant cloud environments
Modernize CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps and enforce security gates
Guide CloudOps and administrators on Azure best practices
Support day-to-day cloud operations and troubleshoot complex issues
Implement and manage Azure security controls (Defender, identity, networking, encryption)
Migrate workloads from on-prem to Azure and between Landing Zones
Maintain disaster recovery (RPO/RTO) and backup strategies
What You Bring:
Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure in enterprise environments
Terraform-first IaC experience
Azure DevOps CI/CD expertise
Azure security knowledge (CIS, MS Cloud Security Benchmark, Defender, RBAC, PIM)
Automation skills with PowerShell and Azure CLI
Experience operating in CloudOps mode while improving architecture and standards
Nice-to-Haves:
Edge compute or manufacturing/OT environments
VMware or on-prem infrastructure experience
