Description:

A well-established, family-owned company with a workforce of several hundred is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Senior Tax Analyst. Reporting to the Controller, the ideal candidate is a hands-on contributor who thrives in a collaborative environment and takes initiative beyond review work.

 

Responsibilities:

Prepare and analyze direct and indirect tax returns, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance across the company and related entities.
Collaborate with internal departments to improve tax-related controls, reporting, and processes.
Maintain accurate tax accounts for financial reporting and support treasury with tax forecasts and payments.
Manage tax audits and assessments by conducting technical analysis and compiling necessary documentation.
Oversee tax compliance calendar, licenses, and coordination with external providers for corporate tax filings.
Monitor tax law developments, optimize internal processes, and contribute to special projects and enterprise initiatives.
Foster collaborative relationships across key departments.
Requirements:

College or University degree in Finance / Accounting.
Min. 3 years of accounting experience working with tax.
Strong understanding of Canadian GAAP principles.
Experience working with external auditors and government auditors.
Proven ability to use technology effectively to drive value, streamline workflows, and enhance process efficiency
Highly organized and able to meet tight deadlines.
Good To Have:

Experience in the petroleum industry and bilingual proficiency in English and French.
Strong knowledge of SQL, with preferred experience using Power BI and/or Tableau for data analysis.
CPA/CA designation or in final stages of completion.
