Senior Infrastructure Engineer/Architect

Location: Toronto, ON – 81 Bay, 5th Floor (Hybrid)

Start Date: ASAP

Rate: $95.00 – $115.00/hr Inc.

Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to play a key role in leading, managing, modernizing, and optimizing enterprise IT infrastructure, including data centers, cloud platforms, storage, virtualization, automation tools, and disaster recovery strategies. The successful candidate will lead infrastructure modernization initiatives, drive cloud adoption, and mentor team members in a highly collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, implement, and manage infrastructure solutions across cloud, virtualization, storage, and physical servers.
Develop strategies to migrate and optimize workloads in Azure VMware Solution (AVS) and native Azure.
Drive automation using tools like Ansible and Terraform.
Lead disaster recovery, backup/restore, and service continuity planning.
Manage server lifecycle (Windows & Linux RHEL), hardening, patching, and compliance.
Provide oversight of Active Directory services, Exchange server, and SMTP relay.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure infrastructure solutions align with business needs.
Lead and mentor infrastructure team members, fostering knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
Must-Have Skills:

8+ years in infrastructure management.
3+ years in leadership roles.
5+ years with cloud technologies (AVS, Azure, DevOps).
5+ years with VMware (vSphere, vCenter, VCF, VxRail, NSX-T, HCX, vSAN, Horizon, VDI).
5+ years with EMC/DELL storage systems and backup/recovery (Commvault, Rubrik).
5+ years with physical server technologies and server virtualization.
5+ years with disaster recovery and service continuity planning.
Strong Active Directory administration and server image lifecycle management.
Nice-to-Have Skills:

SQL design and failover solutions.
VMware Aria Operations, Log Insight, Network Insight.
Certifications (VMware, Microsoft, EMC).
Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) certification (required by Oct 31, 2025).
AI-900 certification.
Enterprise experience with ServiceNow, Confluence, JIRA.
Experience with Exchange servers and SMTP relay.
Automation tools (Ansible, Terraform).
