We’re partnering with a fast-growing, AI-forward tech company in Toronto to find a Software Engineering Manager who’s more than just a people leader — someone who still speaks code, challenges the status quo, and thrives in a collaborative, product-driven environment.
What you’ll do:
Lead and mentor a team of 7–10 engineers building secure, scalable solutions on the Microsoft stack (.NET, C#).
Own the architecture, guide code reviews, and champion DevOps best practices (CI/CD, automation, AWS cloud).
Act as a change agent — improving team performance, processes, and outcomes.
Work cross-functionally with product and leadership to turn vision into working features.
Play a key role in scaling the team, including hiring (and occasionally, letting go) as needed.
What we’re looking for:
✅ 8+ years of software development experience
✅ 3+ years in a leadership/manager role
✅ Strong background in .NET (bonus for .NET7/.NET8)
✅ AWS cloud experience
✅ Excellent communicator with an agile mindset
✅ Experience bringing AI or automation into engineering workflows is a huge plus
Nice-to-haves:
Fintech background, exposure to compliance-heavy environments, and a track record of building secure, customer-facing applications.
