Job Title: Business Analyst (Credit Risk)
Location: 2 days a week onsite until November, then 4 days a week (downtown)
Duration: Contract

We are seeking a Business Analyst with deep expertise in Basel capital rules to support ongoing initiatives within the Credit Risk and Capital Measurement team at a leading Canadian investment bank. This role will focus on bridging regulatory requirements, risk analytics, and data-driven insights to ensure accurate and compliant capital reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
Interpret and apply Basel capital rules (Standardized and IRB approaches) for credit risk, with a focus on parameter impacts on capital.

Analyse wholesale banking products, including Repo/Reverse Repo instruments, to assess risk-weighted asset and capital implications.

Perform quantitative data analysis on large, complex datasets using Excel, Access, and SQL.
Partner with stakeholders across Risk, Finance, and Technology to provide business requirements and support system/process enhancements.

Produce clear documentation, presentations, and recommendations for senior management and regulatory stakeholders.
Qualifications & Skills:
Strong knowledge of Basel III/IV frameworks and credit risk capital measurement.

Solid understanding of wholesale banking products and their treatment under regulatory capital rules.

Proficiency in Excel and Access with demonstrated experience in SQL/data analysis.

Strong critical thinking and independent problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication skills to translate technical analysis into business insights.
Self-starter with the ability to take initiative in a fast-paced, regulatory-driven environment.
Project Context:
This is an assignment requiring someone who can step in quickly to provide subject matter expertise, data-driven analysis, and regulatory insight. The ideal candidate will help the bank strengthen compliance with Basel capital requirements while ensuring accuracy and transparency in credit risk measurement
