🧩 About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Data Architect to join a multi-phase audit remediation and unstructured data governance program for one of Canada’s leading financial institutions. This contract role plays a pivotal part in mapping, classifying, and securing unstructured data across NetApp shared drives, SharePoint Online, and associated platforms. You’ll work closely with compliance, PMs, and stakeholders to ensure data ownership, governance, and audit alignment.
🚀 What You’ll Do
Assess and document NetApp, SharePoint, and OneDrive data environments
Map permissions, group memberships, and access controls
Identify data ownership at site/share/folder level
Support quarterly access reviews and compliance reporting
Generate audit-ready documentation and evidence
Plan and execute migration from NetApp to SharePoint
Leverage SailPoint, Microsoft Purview, and BigID for data classification
Contribute to stakeholder training and change awareness
✅ What You Bring
9+ years in technical documentation, access analysis, or data governance
5–8 years of hands-on experience with:
NetApp (CIFS/NFS) shared storage
SharePoint Online / OneDrive
Active Directory group and permission management
5+ years in regulated industries with audit controls & compliance
Experience working across cross-functional teams and multiple business units
Proficiency in stakeholder communication and requirement gathering
Expertise in IAM, data governance, and policy implementation
🌟 Nice to Have
Experience with: SailPoint, BigID, Microsoft Purview
Familiarity with compliance frameworks: OSFI, PIPEDA, SOX, Basel III, GDPR
Certifications in: Information Security, Data Governance, or Microsoft Technologies
Spanish language skills are a bonus
