Senior Technical Writer (Hybrid – Contract)

Contract | Hybrid (3 days in-office, 2 days remote)

Noramtec is seeking a Senior Technical Writer to join our client’s team on a hybrid contract basis in Toronto. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-impact documentation for complex technical projects in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment.

What You’ll Do
Create and maintain technical documentation, including:
System and operational procedures
Quick start guides
Configuration/admin manuals
Glossaries and terms
Online help and user guides
Collaborate with developers, architects, business analysts, and testers
Ensure all documentation aligns with product functionality and user needs
Publish and maintain content using modern tools and platforms
Ensure documentation complies with AODA and accessibility standards

What You Bring
Technical Skills
Proven experience with:
Azure cloud architecture documentation (networking, storage, backup, disaster recovery)
Java EE application documentation (security, performance, scalability)
Architecture artefacts and process documentation (conceptual/logical/physical)

Strong knowledge of:
Microsoft Office, Adobe Technical Communication Suite, Power Designer, Microsoft Visio, UML
Authoring tools, content publishing platforms, and graphic editing tools
Ability to create detailed, user-friendly content for a wide range of audiences
General Skills
Excellent written and verbal communication in English
Skilled in communicating with cross-functional teams
Fast learner with a proactive mindset and a strong team orientation
Knowledge of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) compliance

Bonus Points For
French proficiency
Writing in a Government IT environment
Experience in publishing web content
Strong interviewing and information-gathering skills
Creating user feedback tools or forms
