Job Title: Senior Privacy Consultant (Remote – Public Sector)
Job Type: Contract | Part-Time to Full-Time (25–40 hours/week)
Pay:$85–$105 per hour (based on experience)
Location: Saskatchewan
Contract Duration: 1 year (optional 4 years)
About the Role:
We are currently hiring a Senior Privacy Consultant on behalf of our public sector client. This is a remote opportunity, offering flexible hours and the chance to work on high-impact privacy-related initiatives with government stakeholders. The successful candidate will be instrumental in supporting privacy assessments, compliance analysis, and solution design related to personal information and security.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the development and delivery of privacy assessments for complex digital and multi-system solutions.
Apply and interpret federal and provincial privacy regulations (e.g., FOIP, HIPAA, and comparable frameworks).
Provide advisory services on privacy-by-design best practices and their application during solution development.
Support the evaluation of new digital initiatives, identifying privacy risks, gaps, and opportunities.
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure privacy requirements are built into project planning and execution.
Contribute to research, gap analysis, and documentation to support compliance and decision-making.
Review technical and business documentation, proposals, and plans for privacy and data governance alignment.
Engage in the design of solutions involving emerging technologies, including biometric data handling.
Qualifications:
8+ years of relevant privacy, compliance, or risk management experience.
Proven expertise in delivering Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) in government or public sector settings.
Strong working knowledge of Canadian privacy legislation (federal and provincial).
Experience with privacy frameworks, privacy engineering, and security best practices.
Familiarity with identity systems, biometrics, or other sensitive data use cases is a strong asset.
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
Relevant certifications (e.g., CIPP/C, CIPT, or similar) are considered an asset.
Post-secondary education in law, public administration, information technology, or related fields.
