Job Posting: Azure Data Engineer (Hybrid – Toronto/GTA)

🔍 What We’re Looking For
We’re hiring an Azure Data Engineer with a strong background in cloud-native data platforms—specifically Microsoft Azure. You’ll play a key role in building and optimizing scalable data pipelines, transforming complex datasets, and enabling better insights for healthcare innovation.
This role is mostly remote, but we ask that you join us for one in-person team meeting per month (currently in Oakville, with occasional client site visits in the GTA).
🔧 What You’ll Do
Design and implement scalable data architectures and ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure services.
Curate large, complex datasets for analytics using Azure Data Factory, Synapse, and Azure Data Lake.
Develop data pipelines and transformation logic in Python and T-SQL.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve data structure, quality, and accessibility.
Monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot long-running queries using Azure Monitor and Log Analytics.
Optionally, build dashboards in Power BI for insights delivery.
Champion best practices around data governance, quality, and compliance.
✅ What You Bring
6–8+ years of experience in data preparation, transformation, and analytics.
3–5 years of enterprise database experience (Azure SQL or Cosmos DB preferred).
Expert-level proficiency in SQL (T-SQL) and Python for large dataset handling.
Deep experience in the Azure data ecosystem:
Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake, and optionally Databricks.
Hands-on experience with data integration across sources and developing scalable pipelines.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, remote-first environment.
Bonus: Experience with Power BI, Azure DevOps, or a healthcare/mission-driven environment.
