Job Title: RQ09130 – Intermediate Systems Testing-QA Specialist. – 2 Resources

Working Status:Hybrid – 3 days in the Office

Location: 777 Bay Street, Toronto, Ontario

Start Date: 2025-07-07

End Date: 2026-03-13

Hours per day: 7.25

 

Must Have:

5-7 years of experience in executing testing-related activities and data reconciliation for large, complex, business-critical systems with support from QA lead.Proficiency in testing tools (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla, Microfocus Product Suite).Good working knowledge of workflow, portfolio management, and rule-driven business solutions.Experience in effective coordination with multiple teams representing various business and technology areas.Experience in Accessibility testing aligned with AODA standards.Experience with web-based 3-tier software platforms and understanding of their architecture.Proficiency in testing tools (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla, Microfocus Product Suite).Competent knowledge of Oracle database tools, including basic data handling and querying.Experience in testing custom implementations and COTS implementations, including familiarity with IBM J-Rules Engine.Public Sector experience

Responsibilities:

Provides advice on the testing strategy, test plans, the selection of testing tools, and the identification of resources required for testingPlans and organizes testing efforts for large systems in Graphical User Interface (GUI) and non-Graphical User Interface (GUI) environments, including the execution of systems integration tests, specialized tests, and user acceptance testing (e.g., stress tests)The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for the development of test plans, test scripts and test cases and executing these against the various components.The tester will work with the testing lead and IT lead of each project as well as the project team members in the analysis, design, development, implementation and ongoing support of the required systems

General Skills:

Experience in planning, organizing and implementing testing efforts at the specified experience levelKnowledge of structured methodologies for the development, design, implementation and maintenance of applicationsKnowledge and experience in the use of Computer Aided Software Engineering (CASE) tools and data query tools to aid in the development of test casesKnowledge and experience in the use of automated test tools and version control systems on one or more platformsExperience executing functional tests, non-functional tests and systems level integration testsExperience supporting user acceptance testing and participating in UAT activitiesExperience with quality assurance principles, practices, tools and structured methodologiesExperience creating testing strategy documentation, test plans, test cases and test data for various types and phases of testing, including technical and business functional validationExperience in quality assurance and testing, including unit testing, integration testing, load testing, performance testing, etc.Knowledge and experience in all phases of the Systems Development Life Cycle Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills; organizational, creativity and perseverance skills; verbal and written communication skills; and interpersonal skillsA team player with a track record for meeting deadlines Knowledge of one or more automated testing tools

Experience and Skill Set Requirements

QA Skills – 45%

5-7 years of experience in executing testing-related activities and data reconciliation for large, complex, business-critical systems with support from QA lead.5-7 years of experience in assisting with test planning, test cases, and expected test results for complex business systems under the guidance of QA lead.5-7 years of experience in conducting data analysis, cleansing, conversion, and reconciliation on large, complex systems with oversight from Senior team members.5-7 years of experience in executing test cases and scenarios for large, complex systems.Demonstrating excellent coordination and organizational skills to manage QA activities within tight timelines and conflicting priorities.Experience in Accessibility testing aligned with AODA standards.

Technical Skills – 35%

Good working knowledge of workflow, portfolio management, and rule-driven business solutions.Experience with web-based 3-tier software platforms and understanding of their architecture.Proficiency in testing tools (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla, Microfocus Product Suite).Competent knowledge of Oracle database tools, including basic data handling and querying.Proficient in desktop tools (Visio, MS Office, MS Project, MS Outlook).Experience in testing custom implementations and COTS implementations, including familiarity with IBM J-Rules Engine.Working knowledge of web-based application development processes and tools.Familiarity with Accessibility testing tools like WAVES, JAWS, NVDA, and Compliance Sheriff.

General skills – 15%

Public Sector Experience – 5%
