| What we are looking for
Payments Canada’s mandate is to establish and operate national systems for the clearing and settlement of payments in Canada, and other arrangements for making or exchange of payments, and to facilitate payment system interoperability and innovation. In fulfilling this mandate, Payments Canada works to promote the efficiency, safety and soundness of its clearing and settlement systems, while considering the interests of payment system users. Our systems are at the heart of the Canadian financial system, enabling the clearing and settlement of hundreds of billions of dollars of payments each day.
Reporting to the Director, Industry Relations, the Lead, Member Engagement, supports Payments Canada’s efforts to build and maintain strong relationships across the Canada Payments ecosystem. The Lead acts as a key liaison, fostering productive, collaborative connections with members and stakeholders to support the organization’s Industry engagement and relationship building. The Lead also contributes to the development and execution of Payments Canada’s industry engagement initiatives, ensuring members’ perspectives are understood and integrated. This role requires excellent relationship management skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with teams across Payments Canada.

Your responsibilities as the Manager, Member Engagement will include but are not limited to:
Industry Engagement and Industry Analysis
Support the execution and refinement of formal Industry Relations and enterprise engagement models for Payments Canada.Managing a portfolio of member accounts (key account management responsibilities) as assigned by the Director, Industry Relations with specialized focus on 3 Large Domestically Systemically Important Banks (DSIB’s) and other Global Systemically Important Banks (GSIB’s) and other Members.The assignment of Member Accounts may change from time to time, as required to best support the goals and objectives of Industry Relations and/or Payments Canada.Develop awareness of the external payment’s environment, domestically and internationally, including trends that will affect Payments Canada’s members and stakeholders.Act as the focal point for communicating key messages (strategic plan, risk management activity, research, new services, etc.) to assigned relationships with DSIBs, GSIBs, members, and stakeholders.
Contacts and Communication
Continually manage relationships with members and stakeholders at appropriate levels.Maintain and enhance Payments Canada’s image through participation and speaking engagements at industry-level and Payments Canada-led conferences.Deliver annual account plans for the assigned member relationships that identify relationship priorities for the year, considering Payments Canada modernization priorities as well as the Member and/or Stakeholder issues, priorities, and strategic opportunities.
| What you need to be successful
Undergraduate degree in a relevant area (Business, Economics, Commerce, or related discipline).Minimum of seven (7) years of managing Financial Institutions, Large Corporations and/or Government entities.Minimum of five (5) years of working at a Financial Institution.Minimum of five (5) years of payments experience.Corporate Sales experience is seen as a benefit to this role.Has working knowledge of Payments Canada systems (ACSS and Lynx).The incumbent will work primarily within the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and/or Ottawa region. Occasional travel to other centres such as Montreal, Calgary, and Vancouver may be required.Has advanced knowledge of Client Relationship Management (CRM) software and systems.Understands not-for-profit organizations.Eligibility to successfully complete background checks that will be carried out by Payments Canada, including criminal, credit, identity, employment, and education checks.
| Salary range
Based on qualifications and experience: $112,364 to 140,455.
