Senior Manager, Payroll
POSITION PURPOSE
Under the general direction of the Senior Manager, the Payroll Specialist will partner Hays Business Services (HBS) Finance Shared Services (FSS) colleagues to ensure end to end processes are accurately being processed. Payroll Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of timesheets collected from client portals and payments for T4 employees and independent contractors. The Manager will be accountable for assigned multiprovincial service to client groups within a shared services environment, with the objective of providing excellence to our clients and an exceptional experience to our team members.
KEY RESULTS AREA
Main functions
Oversee 2000+ temporary employee’s timesheet gathering process from multiple VMS and email reports.Responsible for auditing of payroll for weekly, bi-weekly, and semi-monthly frequenciesReview and approve all information provided by the Share Service Center in India, including independent contractors’ payment, as required.Ensure processing of manual/off-cycle pays as required.Ensuring proper authorization of manual entries, adhering to company and client policies.Resolving discrepancies in a timely mannerOversee corrections for timesheets and coordinate with billing team.Resolving issues with and identifying patterns, trends, and root causes – may be required to work as part of a cross-functional team to correct causes of issues.Developing and cultivating strong working relationships with all stakeholders; including team members, shared services, customer service, onboarding and operations management, and members of the Technology Services Group, as applicableResolution of tickets within the SLA and make sure the team members are resolving tickets within the SLA.Ensure payroll taxes and workers compensation remittance are being processed on time.Assist in year-end reporting for T4 employees and testing of new year GP reset.Process Record of Employment (ROE) and upload to Service Canada after audit all records from team membersCollect documents from CRA, Service Canada and any other legislative documents received in the office and ensure appropriate action being taken.Performing other duties as assigned

Technical Skills
Extensive demonstrable experience of internal and third-party payroll, policies and processes obtained in a large multinational finance function.Track record of using data and metrics to make insight-driven business decisionsReady to drive changes, initiate projects and perform multiple tasks.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) Certification is required.Strong analytical skills and ability to assemble, compile and analyze financial/non-financial data.Advanced skills of MS Office suite, Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook etc.Fluency in written and oral English.
Preferred Knowledge & Experience
BSc/BA in accounting, finance, or relevant fieldExperience of working with shared service center colleagues to deliver end to end processesProject and Change Management methodologies.Experience with Microsoft Great Plains and UKGFluency in written and oral French.
