Job Title: IMPERVA Security Engineer
Location: Toronto, ON – On-site 2 days per week in Downtown Office
Employment Type: 6-Month Contract (Possible Extension to 9 Months)
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced IMPERVA Security Engineer to play a pivotal role in enhancing and maintaining the security of our database infrastructure. This hands-on position will involve supporting, implementing, and expanding Imperva’s database activity monitoring solutions across the enterprise. You will be responsible for the operational support of various databases and working with a range of database types and operating systems to ensure secure and efficient systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Day-to-Day Operational Support:
Provide ongoing support for Imperva database activity monitoring, including patching, upgrades, and responding to infrastructure health alerts.
Assist in resolving errors in agents and ensuring optimal system functionality.
Conduct agent upgrades and rollout across enterprise environments.
Manage inventory scope across Windows, Linux, AIX OSes, and various database types, including MSSQL, Oracle, DB2, Postgres, and more.
Project Support and Infrastructure Deployment:
Support Imperva project expansion initiatives including server configurations, console setup, and agent rollout to new database servers and applications.
Technical Documentation and Knowledge Transfer:
Produce technical documentation for Imperva-related processes and procedures.
Ensure seamless handover of knowledge and processes to operational teams for continued support and maintenance.
Security Incident Response:
Actively participate in security incident response activities.
Assist with post-event reviews to identify areas for improvement and enhance future security measures.
Coordination with Internal Teams:
Collaborate closely with internal teams to implement database monitoring solutions that enhance security and align with business objectives and regulatory compliance requirements.
Required Skills and Experience:
Hands-on experience with Imperva: Expertise in configuring agents and Imperva software across various environments.
Database Security Solutions: Experience with solutions like Guardium, SecureSphere, Imperva, and a strong understanding of database security best practices.
Operating Systems: Familiarity with Windows, Linux, and AIX OSes.
Database Experience: Deep knowledge of Oracle and MS SQL databases.
Enterprise Experience: Experience working within large enterprises or financial institutions is highly desired.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a security-focused role within large enterprises or financial institutions.
Experience with database security tools such as Imperva, Guardium, or similar technologies.
Familiarity with cloud technologies (preferably Azure or AWS) is a plus.
