| What we are looking for
The Core Payment Products team is focused on understanding our members’ retail payment needs. We ensure that our products are practical, efficient, and responsive to their challenges and opportunities. Through our commitment to innovation, we strive to provide tools and standards that help financial institutions build sustainable and resilient payments for the future.
The Product Manager of Retail Payment Products is a key contributor accountable for significant initiatives to identify and implement enhancements to the ACSS payments platform, including payment streams, rules and standards and defining the evolution of retail
payments in Canada. Additionally, they are responsible for interfacing with member financial institutions and other key stakeholders to develop, maintain, and improve business processes (including rules and standards) and key insights for the operation of the ACSS.
| A day in the life
Your responsibilities as the Product Manager- Retail Payments will include but not limited to:
Product Management and Leadership
Manage the ACSS product portfolio, implementing enhancements to products, rules, and processes while aligning with member needs and regulatory requirements.Translate Payments Canada’s product strategy into actionable roadmaps and ensure effective execution of modernization projects.
Project Execution and Operational Excellence
Lead the delivery of complex retail payment roadmap initiatives, collaborating with stakeholders to ensure quality outcomes.Provide subject matter expertise, support the development of operational rules and standards, and drive innovations in operational reporting.
Stakeholder and Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with members, regulators, and stakeholders in the payment’s ecosystem.Represent Payments Canada at forums, workshops, and events, while facilitating collaboration between internal and external stakeholders.
| What you will need to be successful
University degree or college diploma in Business Management, Engineering or related fieldMinimum of seven (7) to ten (10) years of solid experience in retail or commercial payments, including five (5) years of progressive leadership experience.Experience in establishing and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Ability to gather and synthesize information in a concise and clear manner.Superior oral and written communication skills, with the ability to develop and deliver briefings and presentations for senior audiences.Experience influencing decision-making based on data-based suggestions, applying critical thinking accordingly and inspiring teams to work towards a vision.Experience in leading complex, large-scale projects involving multiple stakeholders with varying interests.Advanced knowledge of retail payments, in particular the Canadian Payments Clearing and Settlement Systems.Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.Occasional travel will be required.Eligibility to successfully complete background checks that will be carried out by Payments Canada, including criminal, credit, identity, employment, and education checks.

Deep understanding of the anatomy of payments, including exchange, clearing and settlements in the Canadian context. Experience in cross-border transactions is an asset.Bilingualism is considered an asset.
| Salary range
Based on qualifications and experience: $112.364 to 140,455.
